International Health Certificate Agreement

International travel requirements for pets are determined by the destination country and may change without notice. Requirements and forms may be complex and are not always readily available to the clinic. It is the pet owner’s responsibility to obtain and review all current requirements for travel, including any destination or transit countries.

Vaccination requirements, microchip requirements, laboratory testing, rabies titer requirements, USDA endorsement requirements, and timelines vary by country and may change at any time.

Failure to meet all requirements may result in additional testing, treatments, quarantine, travel delays, denied entry, or additional expenses. Any costs associated with these situations are the sole responsibility of the pet owner.

International Health Certificates are completed by appointment only and require a current physical examination within the timeframe required by the destination country and USDA guidelines.

Pet owner's are responsible for providing complete and accurate travel information, including:

  • Destination country
  • Travel dates
  • Airline information (if applicable)
  • Pet information matching vaccination and microchip records
  • Any additional documents requested by the clinic

Pet owner's are responsible for any required import permits, advance notifications, or other entry requirements required by the destination or transit country.

Some countries require testing or treatments months prior to travel. The clinic cannot guarantee approval or acceptance by USDA, airlines, customs officials, or destination countries if insufficient notice is provided.

USDA endorsement timelines and government processing are outside of the clinic’s control. Delays in endorsement, shipping, or government approval may impact travel dates.

International Health Certificate fees are due at the time services are rendered. Additional fees may apply for:

  • USDA endorsement
  • Laboratory testing
  • Vaccinations
  • Microchipping
  • Additional forms or corrections requested after completion
  • Expedited or same-day requests

Fees are non-refundable once documentation preparation has begun.

The clinic cannot guarantee acceptance of documentation by airlines, USDA, customs officials, or destination countries and cannot guarantee that a pet will be permitted entry into another country or avoid quarantine requirements.

Pet owner's are responsible for reviewing all completed documents for accuracy immediately upon receipt. Requested corrections after documents have been completed may result in additional fees and delays.

Due to the complexity of international travel requirements, clients may wish to consult a professional pet transport service for assistance with travel coordination and country-specific requirements.

The client acknowledges that the clinic is relying on information provided by the pet owner and available government guidance at the time documents are completed. The client agrees to hold the clinic and its staff harmless for delays, denied entry, quarantine requirements, or additional costs related to international travel documentation, incomplete information provided by the client, or changing country regulations.
